Shoes you will be wearing this spring
As we saw on the runways of Fashion week, Spring 2009 is all about the statement shoe. Colors, lace, ribbons, ruffles, bows, reptile skins and cutouts will adorn your shoes. This spring expect geometric shapes, pointy toes, square toes, round toes, stilletos, chunky heels, mesh and wire. For you simple fashionistas, don’t worry, you can still wear classic shoes but expect your pumps to be metallic or covered in snakeskin and your maryjanes will have a twist. This will be the season to buy that shoe you thought was too wild or didn’t think would work with anything else in your closet.
There were so many fierce and fabulous shoes showcased on the runway that I have to post half today and the other half Thurs. so make sure you stay tuned!

It’s all about the Bootie!

This fall season is all about the bootie!
Booties have been evolving for years, but now its the NEW shoe and the must have of the season. This is the boot with serious attitude! There are so many variations so it’s really hard to define them. Some have cut outs, open toes, chunky heels, stiletto heels. They can hit above, below or right at the ankle. Slip these on for an instant updated and fierce look.
They are such a great item to have in your closet because they can be paired with everything like skinny jeans, boot-leg trousers, skirts and dresses.
Although this is a hot trend, make sure you don’t follow blindly. Take time to find out which booties are right for your style, shape and size and what you should pair them with as they don’t necessarily work on all body types.
Tips:
- Booties look best with skirts that hit above the knee.
- Wear black tights with black booties to elongate your legs. This creates a long monochromatic line.
- If you wear cut-out booties or bright colored booties, keep the rest of the outfit simple.
- Don’t waste them on trousers, keep the jeans skinny so you can show them off.
- Since booties shorten the length of your leg, styles that hit at the ankles look best.
- You can tuck your skinny jeans into your booties
- Do not wear them with shorts. Hideous…
- If you have been blessed with long legs, you can pretty much wear any style bootie with anything

Fall Trend Alert: Full Skirts

Kerry Washington, Rachel Bilson, Diane Kruger

Becki Newton, Maria Sharapova, Leighton Meester
Ladies, right now feminine is in so why not go for the fun and flirty full skirt! With the volume on the bottom make sure you go slim on the top. Tuck in your blouse, throw on a cardigan or simple jacket. To create a balanced silhouette and to define your waist, use a belt or sash. Leg-elongating pumps or shoe-boots, or even neat ballet flats look great with these skirts. You can achieve the same look with a full skirted dress. Just make sure the waist is defined. This trend has been around for a while and it’s not going anywhere so choose prints that can stand the test of time, when in doubt, black or navy is always best.
