Earthquake rattles Illinois!

Isn’t it wild that weve been hearing all this talk about the BIG earthquake hitting California within 30 years and we actually get  an earthquake in Illinois? It was a small one but I’m sure, since they arent used to it, they were acting like it was the “Big One. They probably get that daily in California….lol. Here is what the Assoicated Press reported:

WEST SALEM, Ill. — A 5.4 magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, and Des Moines, Iowa, 450 miles northwest of the epicenter, but there were no early reports of injuries or significant damage.

“It shook our house where it woke me up,” said David Behm of Philo, 10 miles south of Champaign. “Windows were rattling, and you could hear it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It’s not like California.”

Bonnie Lucas, a morning co-host at WHO-AM in Des Moines, said she was sitting in her office when she felt her chair move. She grabbed her desk, and then heard the ceiling panels start to creak. The shaking lasted about 5 seconds, she said.

The quake shook skyscrapers in Chicago’s Loop, 240 miles north of the epicenter, and in downtown Indianapolis, about 160 miles northeast of it.

Irvetta McMurtry of Cincinnati said she felt the rattling for up to 20 seconds.

“All of a sudden, I was awakened by this rumbling shaking,” said McMurtry, 43. “My bed is an older wood frame bed, so the bed started to creak and shake, and it was almost like somebody was taking my mattress and moving it back and forth.”

Lucas Griswold, a dispatcher in West Salem, said the Edwards County sheriff’s department received reports of minor damage and no injuries.

“Oh, yeah, I felt it. It was interesting,” Griswold said. “A lot of shaking.”

Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Todd Ringle in Evansville said there were no immediate reports of damage.

The quake occurred in the Illinois basin-Ozark dome region that covers parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas and stretches from Indianapolis and St. Louis to Memphis, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The organization’s Web site said earthquakes occur irregularly in the area, and that the largest historical earthquake in the region — also a magnitude 5.4 — caused damage in southern Illinois in 1968.

The Cookie Diet


Madonna has revealed her husband Guy Ritchie lost his sex drive while he was on a cookie diet.
She said: “My husband went on that cookie diet and it was such a turn-off because he didn’t want to have sex. He’s not on it anymore, thank god!”

Dr. Sanford Siegal created the Cookie Diet more than 30 years ago by experimenting on his family and friends. The cookies contain a protein blend that supresses hunger. Siegal responded to Madonna’s comments saying, “I’ve treated more than 500,000 patients with Dr. Siegal’s® COOKIE DIET™ in the thirty-three years since I created it. While my cookies curb their hunger for food, I can’t recall any patients reporting that they lower their sexual appetite, too. My cookies taste good enough but I can’t imagine someone preferring them to sex.”
Despite her complaints about the side effects, Madonna admits the 800 calorie-a-day diet - which also counts Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson among its followers - was a success.

Just reading this makes me wanna eat 2 boxes of girl scout cookies.

The 49-year-old singer added: “He did lose weight but he didn’t really need to lose that much weight. I think he did it because all his friends were doing it and he wanted to see if he could do it.”

Herschel Walker copes with “multiple personalities” disorder

Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker opened up about his experiences Monday night on ABC’s Nightline.The 46-year-old, who was a star running back at Georgia and in the pros, didn’t know he had this condition when he won the Heisman in 1982 or darker events, such as threatening his then-wife.

After his retirement from football in 1997, Walker said the disorder began to overwhelm him. At one point, while sitting in his kitchen, he said he played Russian roulette with a loaded pistol.

“To challenge death like I was doing, you start saying, there’s a problem here,” Walker told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff.

He has been in treatment for 8 years and believes the disorder is under control. His new book “Breaking Free, which he credits helping him with his struggles, chronicles his life with dissociative identity disorder

Male: Daniel Craig’s eyes, Leonardo DiCaprio’s nose, Matt Damon’s lips, Christian Bale’s jaw and John Stamos’ hair.

Female: Katie Holmes’ eyes, Katherine Heigl’s nose, Keira Knightleys cheeks, Jessica Simpson’s hair and Angelina Jolie’s lips.

The guy looks very pretty! LOL
