Oprah Winfrey Going on a 21 Day Detox Diet

Oprah Winfrey, 54, is going vegan for a 21-day detox plan. That means no animal products. She’s also banning caffeine, sugar, gluten and alcohol. She got the idea from Kathy Freston’s book Quantum Wellness. For those of you who want to follow in her footsteps, she will be blogging about it daily with tips, meal plans and recipes, as well as the diets ups and downs.

Steven Curtis Chapman’s daughter struck by car

The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, authorities said.

The girl, Maria Sue, was hit in the driveway of the family’s home Wednesday afternoon by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother, said Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The brother, whose name and exact age weren’t available, apparently did not see the girl, McPherson said. No charges are expected.

“It looks like a tragic accident,” she said.

Several family members witnessed the accident, which happened in Williamson County just south of Nashville. The girl died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, hospital spokeswoman Laurie Holloway said.

In a statement, Velvet Kelm, a publicist for Chapman, said Maria was the Chapmans’ youngest daughter.

David Cook Wins American Idol

Tonight Simon said he didnt care who won because both Davids were deserving of the American Idol title. But after a star studded show an emotional David Cook won by 12 million votes.

Tonights show was actually pretty good. Of course all 12 finalists came back and butchered a few songs. Watching Brooke White and David Archuleta trying to move to the beat was painful

The guests tonight were Seal, who sang with Syesha and because she’s special, she got to sing with Donna Summer too. Bryan Adams and Jimmy Kimmel were there. Mike Myers even showed up to give advice as the Love Guru. The Jonas Brothers were there. Need I say more?

ZZ Top and David Cook perfomed together. David Archuleta sang “Apologize” with One Republic and sang the song better.

Jordan Sparks performed but she was not exciting and was just there wasting time. Carrie Underwood of course stole the show with “Last Name” .

The best part of the night is when Robert Downey Jr, Ben Stiller and Jack Black performed with a twenty something Gladys Knight as her Pips. I could not stop laughing!!

Right before they announced the winner, George Michael took the stage. I thought I was gonna pass out! Even though he’s had his public bathroom and drug problems, he’s still George Michael and his performance made Paula cry. Yeah, no surprises there.

So David Cook was joined onstage by his mother and brother who is the reason why he auditioned in the first place. He sang the winning song effortlessly and hugged David Archuleta continuously.

America, I think you really picked a winner this year.

The show ended with David Cook’s brother mouthing these words into the camera, “That’s my brother”.

Lou Pearlman sentenced to 25 years!!

The man who created the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on four federal charges.

Pearlman pleaded guilty in March to two counts of conspiracy and single counts of money laundering and presenting a false claim in bankruptcy court.
Judge G. Kendall Sharp apparently loves telling jokes because he said Wednesday he would reduce the sentence by one month for every $1 million Lou Pearlman returned to the investors he stole from. Good luck with that.

R Kelly’s Defense, a Mole


The trial that I thought would never happen, started this week. R Kelly who is facing child pornography charges claims the man in the tape in not him. His defense lawyers say that Kelly has a mole and the man on the tape clearly doesn’t.
Then the defense claimed the girl in the tape is a prostitute and not the girl, now 23, they think it is.
This is getting absolutely confusing. The defense is trying to use anything and everything in hopes that something will get him off but it’s all crazy.
I expect this to be more of a three ring circus than a trial so keep checking back for updates.

Ashlee Simpson’s Wedding Pic!

People has revealed the first photo of Ashlee Simpson as the wife of Pete Wentz. The wedding which took place last Saturday, was said to look like a fairytale, but with the 10,000 black magic roses, red-and-black décor and chandeliers dripping with crystals, it sounded more like a costume party.

Pete said Ashlee looked like a girl right out of a movie. Hopefully he wasn’t referring to “The Bride of Chucky”.

Congrats to the couple. Hopefully Daddy Joe wont mess it up.

American Idol Duel Cook vs Archuleta

Well the Davids battled it out tonight in a 3 round match on American Idol.
I will admit that going into this match, I thought David Cook would win this hand down but David Arcuhleta really gave it his all and I didnt realize he was so talented.

ROUND 1

Cook sang “I Still haven’t Found What I’m Looking for by U2. He received great reviews from the judges. He received a “Phenomenal” from Simon and “Amen, Amen, Amen” from Paula.
Archuleta sang “Don’t let the Sun Go Down on Me” by Elton John and his response from the judges was even greater. Clearly this round belongs to Archuleta.

Archuleta sang “In this Moment” by Ryan Gilmore. Still all positive responses from the judges. Cook sang “Dream Big” and it was just ok. Simon said it didn’t feel like a winning song and gave him 6 1/2 out of 10. Looks like David Archuleta won this round also.

David Cook sang “World I Know” and he even got a little emotional afterwards but David Archuleta sang his heart out with the song “Imagine” by John Lennon and he’s clearly the judges favorite for the night.

“Flavor of Love 3″ Winner, Thing 2


Hip Hop hype Man, Flavor Flav picked Thing 2 to be his love on Monday night’s finale of VH1’s Flavor of Love 3. Latresha, a twenty-six year old healthcare worker from Artesia, California has been the only contestant that seemed genuine to me throughout the show. She started losing ground when her identical twin sister was eliminated.
Thing 2’s time was up 3 shows ago and Black and Sincere were the final but in a surprise move in true

Flavor Flav style, Thing 2 was brought back for the finale episode. Sincere was kicked off 100 episodes too late. I think she should have been one of the first to go when the season started. Flav then took Black to Monaco and Thing 2 to Paris. I thought Thing 2 was out of the running when she told Flav she didnt want to go back to his room for a nightcap but in the end, Flav could see she was “real” and she received the gold fronts in the end.
So we’ll see who he ends up with at the Reunion. Word is is that he proposes to someone. Proably one of his baby mamas.

Desperate Housewives Season Finale

OK, the Desperate Housewives finale was so surprising! If you missed it, you have to go to ABC.com and watch it. There were so many twists and turns and the last 3 minutes of the show included a look five years into the future.

- Model-turned-mommy Gabby (Eva Longoria) has two daughters, Juanita and Celia, who were playing with Gabby’s makeup and Vera Wang dress.

– Bree (Marcia Cross) has turned into a businesswoman with a cookbook coming out and her son seems to be her agent. She and husband Orson are still together.

– Lynette’s (Felicity Huffman) sons Preston and Porter have both been arrested for stealing cars. One has already been to a Juvenile Detention Center.

– Katherine’s (Dana Delany) daughter Dylan is in Paris and is getting married.

– Susan (Teri Hatcher) kisses has a new man in her life, played by Gale Harold who is best known for his role on Vanished.

- Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) is no longer on Wisteria Lane
