It’s all about the Davids on American Idol

First off, I am so glad American Idol has one more show this season. I dread watching it every week but I can’t stay away from it. Crazy…..yeah I know.

Anyway, we will see David Cook and David Archuleta in the finals. No surprise here. Syesha Mercado was eliminated and everyone, including herself, knew she was going home tonight. She didnt even cry when they gave her the mic to sing her last song.

Tonight’s show was pretty interesting. Each idol went back to their hometown where May 9, was officially declared their day. There were thousands of screaming fans awaiting the idols. It was pretty overwhelming and all 3 cried. There was an awkward and very touching moment where Syesha’s dad talked about struggling with drugs and alcohol: “This is like a natural high for me. It’s reason to stay clean.”

Awww Lawd Fantasia! Fantasia had on an unflattering outfit and her hair is red. Of course Ryan asked her about the hair color and she said she just tried it out. She gyrated and jiggled and jumped around a little too much. If nothing else, she is a true performer with the most powerful lungs! The way Simon was looking at her said just the opposite. It was a true WTF? moment.

David Cook and David Archuleta will face off at the Kodiak theater next week in what Simon says will be a “real humdinger”. We don’t know who will win next week but we do know….his name will be David.
