Jail could have been avoided

Wesley Snipes spent forever denying he owed taxes but hours before he was to be sentenced Thursday, he cut the federal government three checks for $5 million, delivered in court.
So taken aback were prosecutors that they first declined the cash. But by the end of the day, the government took the money and more — a maximum three-year sentence for its highest-profile criminal tax target in decades.

Paid 5 million and he still has to do three years.

He could have just paid the money a long time ago!

What did we learn today boys and girls?

Don’t EFF with the IRS!!

Also, Snipes’ wife, Nikki Park, collapsed in tears in the courthouse stairwell after the verdicts were announced. A member of Snipes’ entourage carried the sobbing Park down the stairs to a private area on the second floor, accidentally striking Park’s head on the wall as he did so.
